City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton elementary schools take part in cross country meet

On October 9, 800 elementary students from across schools in the City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County competed at the annual cross country meet at the Ken Reid Conservation Area.

Throughout the day, students ran in nine races, separated out by divisions – primary (1 km), junior (2 km), intermediate (3 km), senior (3 km), and a victory race (1 km). Below are the results from each division:

Primary girls – Grades 2 and 3

  • First – Riley from Stuart W. Baker Elementary School
  • Second – Brinley from Jack Callaghan Public School
  • Third – Violet from Grandview Public School

Primary boys – Grades 2 and 3

  • First – Kipton from Stuart W. Baker Elementary School
  • Second – a tie between Grayson from Langton Public School and River from Alexandra Public School
  • Third – Thomas from Stuart W. Baker Elementary School

Junior girls – Grade 4 and 5

  • First – Tessa from Jack Callaghan Public School
  • Second – Helen from Mariposa Elementary School
  • Third – Charlotte from Rolling Hills Public School

Junior boys – Grade 4 and 5

  • First – Hudson from Rolling Hills Public School
  • Second – Jase from Parkview Public School
  • Third – Tommy from Alexandra Public School

Intermediate girls – Grades 6 and 7

  • First – Xyerra from Dunsford District Elementary School
  • Second – Bronwyn from Langton Public School
  • Third – Zoey from Rolling Hills Public School

Intermediate boys – Grades 6 and 7

  • First – Linus from J.D. Hodgson Elementary School
  • Second – Simon from Dunsford District Elementary School
  • Third – Mason from Parkview Public School

Senior girls – Grade 8

  • First – Quinn from J.D. Hodgson Elementary School
  • Second – Aven from Rolling Hills Public School
  • Third – Vivienne from Langton Public School

Senior boys – Grade 8

  • First – Nash from Langton Public School
