Flags to be at half-mast in memory of the 751 Unmarked Graves at the former Marieval (Cowessess) Residential School

Flags at all Ontario government buildings and establishments across the province will be flown at half-mast from now until further notice, in memory of the 751 unmarked graves at the former Marieval (Cowessess) Residential School.

We are deeply saddened by the news of 751 unmarked graves at the former Marieval Indian Residential School in Saskatchewan. We extend our sympathies to the families of these children, the community of Cowessess First Nation, and the families of the thousands of children who were sent to residential schools, many who never returned.

The flag at Ridgewood Public School is lowered today and will remain lowered in memory of children sent to residential schools
